Garden hose menders are fittings with raised ridges, or barbs, on both ends. Also called hose splicers, they are commonly used to repair and connect two damaged garden hoses. The spliced ends of the hoses are inserted into the hose mender and secured with a hose clamp for a tight, leak-resistant seal.
